I got Beau when she was just 10 weeks old. She was the smallest of the litter, and with her huge ears, big blue eyes and skinny little body she looked the funniest!! I did not choose her though - she chose me. She sat in my arms so that I could not hold any of her brothers and sisters. As I drove home with her she sang happily to me the whole way.
We spent an amazing 3 months together, she became my best friend. I had to walk around with her perched on my shoulder like a parrot, or curled up under my jumper snug and safe.
After much deliberation, getting her chipped and a lovely sparkly collar, I decided to let her go out, for short whiles in the day. She was so desperate too, she would try and run out of the door at any opportunity! She loved going in the car and was such an adventurous kitten, I felt mean keeping her in.
One a sunny Saturday morning I got a phone call saying my kitten was in the road. The person did not stop, someone had found her.
I have never felt such heart ache. After finally finding my little soul mate she was taken from me so quickly. I still talk to her though, and although the pain is still very real, I know it will pass and eventually I will have the wonderful memories to hold onto of my beautiful little Beau.
