I suppose some would call it a perfect day -
flowers scenting the air as in the breeze they sway
All vibrant with colour, a feast for the eye
With the sun shining down from a cloudless blue sky.
I sit alone in the shade of your cherry tree
My heart aching because you're not here with me.
You've been gone from us now for three long years
Yet still I don't know how to stop the tears.
I try to be strong, for you were so brave
But to see you again is all that I crave.
I just want you to know, wherever you are,
You're my special boy, precious love, no matter how far.
On rainbow bridge, one day , we'll be together again
And your purrs of joy will then end my pain
Until then, darling Blue, no day is ever perfect
If it's a day without you.
